First Case of Coronavirus Infection Recorded in UAE

The Ministry of Health of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed the first case of infection with the novel coronavirus. This was reported on January 29 by Saudi Arabia's Arab News.

According to the ministry, the infected individuals are family members from Hubei Province in China, where the city of Wuhan is located, the epicenter of the outbreak. While the exact number of infected individuals has not been disclosed, the ministry notes that they are in stable condition. Arab News adds that these are the first cases of infection with the new virus in the Middle East, reported Interfax.
