Difficult Conditions on the Yelpin Turn, Snowfall Reported
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of January 17 at 08:30, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia. The Vardenyats Pass and the Sotk-Karvachar highway are closed to trucks and difficult to navigate for other vehicles.
The H-31 highway segment from Hartashen to Tashir is closed. The Yelpin turn is difficult to navigate. Some roads in the Syunik Province are experiencing black ice in places.
Snow is falling in the Vardenyats Pass, on the Saravan-Zanger section, and in the area known as ‘Meghru Sar’. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
