Samvel Balasanyan Attempts to Establish Contact with the Authorities
According to the Joghvoroud newspaper, after the revolution, the mayor of Gyumri, Samvel Balasanyan, is making efforts to reach agreements with the current authorities and to find avenues of communication with them.
The matter is that recently, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been frequently visiting Gyumri, and it has been noted that during these visits, he often criticizes or admonishes Balasanyan.
Our sources indicate that Balasanyan is also regularly trying to arrange meetings with Suren Papikyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, but those attempts have not been successful either.
We have learned that Balasanyan is gathering a team of supporters, with assistance from his son, Misak Balasanyan. They are attempting to rally individuals around them who can advocate on behalf of Balasanyan to the Prime Minister, ensuring a promising political future for him despite having changed several parties.
It is natural that Papikyan's press secretary, Armine Muradyan, denied any claims of a meeting request from Balasanyan that has been turned down. Balasanyan himself stated, "We haven't met on my initiative." When asked if he had expressed a desire to meet, he replied, "No, there have not been any questions that would require a meeting. If there are questions, we will agree and meet."
