The Issue is Urgent and the Solution Will Not Be Delayed: Governor on the Closure of Yeghvard Hospital
The maternity hospital in Yeghvard city of Kotayk Province is being dissolved, leading to protests by healthcare workers since yesterday. In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan stated that he is in contact with the Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan.
"I have presented my observations to the minister. We will have a decision, which we will announce. The interests of the citizens are undoubtedly dominant, and after a comprehensive study of the issues, I assure you that the resolution will be effective and substantiated," said Petrosyan.
He mentioned that on his first working day, January 8, he officially submitted his concerns and observations regarding this issue to the minister.
When asked if he would meet with the protesting healthcare workers and residents today, Romanos Petrosyan replied that he is currently at the Government: "I cannot say — I am still at the Government. But the issue is urgent, and the solution will not be delayed."
It should be noted that a few days ago, protests were also held in Maralik due to the closure of the maternity hospital there.
