My Previous Deleted Post Was Entirely Correct: Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has presented the numbers of those leaving and arriving in Armenia over the past years after clarifications between various departments on his Facebook page.
“In 2019, 5,339,796 people arrived in Armenia. In 2018, 4,785,875 people arrived in Armenia. In 2017, 4,373,117 people arrived in Armenia. Compared to 2017, in 2019 the number of arrivals to Armenia increased by 966,679, or 22.1 percent. I should note that according to the 2019 results, the number of departures from Armenia exceeded the number of arrivals by 9,467. Based on 2018 results, the number of departures from Armenia was higher than arrivals by 11,882. According to 2017 results, attention, the number of those leaving Armenia exceeded the number of arrivals by, again, attention, 133,826.
I also want to mention that my previous post, which I deleted, was entirely accurate; it simply referred to the data of the fourth quarter—October, November, December. Accordingly, in the fourth quarter of 2019, 2,150,383 people arrived in Armenia. In 2018, in the fourth quarter, 1,906,722 people arrived in Armenia. In 2017, in the fourth quarter, 1,751,729 people arrived in Armenia. Compared to 2017, in the fourth quarter of 2019, the number of arrivals increased by 398,654, or 22.7 percent. Positive balance figures have begun to be recorded in favor of arrivals in the fourth quarter only after the Nonviolent Velvet Revolution.
P.S. Multiple visits by the same individual are not accounted for in this calculation. Only one arrival and one departure are considered for multiple departures/arrivals of the same individual during the year. That is, if the same person has departed and arrived 10 times during the year, only one arrival and one departure are registered. If they have only departed, only that departure is counted; if they have only arrived, only that arrival is counted,” wrote Pashinyan.
