I set the task to create a competitor song to Jingle Bells and Happy Birthday for the New Year, says Pashinyan

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, announced in a Facebook live session that he feels envious about the fact that global songs and music are more popular during the New Year celebrations than Armenian ones.

"I set the task to have a new song written for New Year and, by the way, also for birthday celebrations, and this process should continue until our New Year song becomes as popular in Armenia as, for example, Jingle Bells and Happy Birthday," he said.

Pashinyan revealed that he has learned of a new song related to the New Year that will be presented in Republic Square. "I don’t know if this song will become that, but we need to continue this process until a song is born in Armenia that, with its popularity, will surpass global songs, for example, to compete with Jingle Bells and Happy Birthday. This is very important for our state and national identity," the Prime Minister noted.
