Armenian Red Cross to Aid Syrian Refugees with $100,000 Grant in Partnership with Kuwaiti Counterpart
The Secretary General of the Armenian Red Cross Society, Anna Yeghiazaryan, and the President of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, Hilal Al-Sayer, have signed a contract for the "Support for Syrian Refugees in Armenia" program in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to the Armenian Red Cross Society, the program, which was launched on November 1, 2019, will continue until October 31, 2020. The goal is to improve the well-being of Syrian refugees in Armenia by providing humanitarian assistance and access to education for the most vulnerable families.
As part of the program, 60 of the most vulnerable families will receive food packages four times a year, 170 vulnerable families will receive clothing vouchers twice a year, members of 30 families in urgent need of healthcare will be provided necessary funds, and partial tuition reimbursement will be given to 40 students from the most vulnerable families.
The total amount of support will be $100,000.
