Serious uproar is brewing in the Prosecutor General's Office. Who are Kostanyan's close associates?
According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovourd', serious turmoil is brewing in the Prosecutor General's Office. Prosecutors, well aware of the potential for disciplinary action for violating ethical rules, nevertheless do not intend to remain silent regarding the issuance of a wanted notice for former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan, as well as his involvement as a defendant in the 'March 1' case.
Deputy Military Prosecutor Vahagn Muradyan, who has led the prosecutorial group on the 'March 1' case, stated in an exclusive interview with the newspaper: 'Since March 1, 2008, three Prosecutors General have worked. In my opinion, Gevorg Kostanyan was the Prosecutor General who sought to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the ten victims in the aforementioned case... By his order, separate proceedings were initiated for the deaths of the ten victims, and it was instructed that each proceeding be studied and uncovered more thoroughly by a separate prosecutor and investigator.'
A supporting statement for Kostanyan has also been made by Raffi Aslanyan, head of the Department of Crimes Against Public Health at the Prosecutor's Office.
