Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan announced on his Facebook page that a Women's Issues Council will operate under his presidency. The post is presented below.
Today marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Violence against women and girls remains one of the most widespread violations of human rights, with the actual scale exceeding the reported cases.
I would like to inform you that henceforth, a Women's Issues Council will work under my presidency, aimed at strengthening equal rights and opportunities for women and men and ensuring a violence-free, safe environment for everyone.
