I Don't Know What This Artificiality Is Based On: Kostanyan on Involvement as Defendant in March 1 Case
Former member of parliament from the Republican Party of Armenia and former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan has been involved as a defendant in the March 1 case. 168.am reports that it has contacted the former Prosecutor General, who is currently in Russia, to comment on the decision of the Special Investigative Service (SIS).
"I have publicly stated many times, as well as in accordance with their agreement, that I will definitely return and have also mentioned the reason for not returning at this moment. I said that I am attending classes and that I will return once the session is over," said Gevorg Kostanyan. However, he does not understand what this artificiality and urgency are based on if he has informed them that he will come back as soon as the course is over.
"I am not familiar with other details, I learned from you that there is such a thing. When I become more familiar with it, we will discuss it. But the artificiality, I believe, is obvious to everyone," noted the former Prosecutor General.
When asked whether he has made any decision regarding his return to Armenia in light of this new reality, Gevorg Kostanyan responded affirmatively, stating that he will definitely return. "My main concern is that I know that if I come back at this moment, they will at least not allow me to leave, which is why I want to fulfill my obligations and then return," concluded former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan.
