HDYM Youth Halt Sit-In Demanding Resignation of Minister of Education and Science
The protest action of the youth of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (HDYM) demanding the resignation of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan continues in front of the ministry. Members of the initiating group held a press conference, according to tert.am.
Kristine Vardanyan, a member of the HDYM Central Council, emphasized that their demand for the minister's resignation is based on the policies pursued by the Ministry over the past one and a half years. She stated, "There is no addressing of the main issues, no search for solutions, and against this backdrop, cosmetic changes are being introduced, which seem to have turned into a campaign against Armenian studies, along with funding that is questionable in terms of our objectives."
They once again called on the parliamentary opposition to express the interests of the broad masses of the people and to engage in what they are called to do as deputies, namely, to raise the issues concerning the population from the number one podium of the country.
