Such an act of crime can have no justification. Catholicos
We were deeply saddened to learn about the terrorist attack that occurred on November 11 in Kamishli, Syria, which resulted in the death of the spiritual leader of the Armenian Catholic community, the Honorable Father Joseph Petoyan, and his father, as well as injuries to the accompanying deacon. This was stated by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, on his Facebook page.
“Such an act of crime can have no justification. The 21st century must be an era where peaceful coexistence among different nations and religions around the world has no alternative, and both past and present crimes receive their rightful condemnation for the establishment of a peaceful and constructive life. Sternly condemning any criminal encroachment against the God-created life, we offer our prayers to the Heavenly One for the peace and rest of the souls of the Honorable Father Joseph Petoyan and his father, and we extend our condolences to their family members, as well as wishing a swift recovery to the injured deacon,” wrote the Catholicos.
