Cargo Transport Companies Raise Prices, Demanding $3,500 Instead of $2,500-2,800

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', cargo transport companies in Armenia have raised their service prices. This is particularly evident in the cost of imports from Moscow to Yerevan, resulting in factories being unable to import goods ordered months ago.

Marine Hakobyan, a representative of a wood production company in Russia, told the newspaper that businesses that ordered wood for construction over a month ago are struggling to transport it to Armenia. Transport companies are now demanding $3,500 for transporting goods from Moscow to Yerevan, up from the previous price range of $2,500 to $2,800.

Armen Yeganian, head of the Industrial Development Department at the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, explained in an interview with the newspaper that the price fluctuations are due to additional expenses expected in the upcoming winter months.

Additionally, the newspaper has learned that personnel changes are expected at the North Caucasian Customs Administration in Russia at the Upper Lars checkpoint, in response to queues and complaints.
