Armenian Island of St. Lazar Submerged Under Water: The Situation is Dire

A significant flood has occurred in Venice, marking the city's worst in half a century, submerging 80% of the area and claiming the lives of two individuals. On Tuesday, water levels reached 187 centimeters (with 130 cm considered critical). One of the main attractions, St. Mark's Square, is now underwater, and public transport is operating intermittently.

The Armenian island of St. Lazar in Venice has also been severely affected by the flooding. The foundation of the island's Armenian church is submerged, and the ship 'Armenia,' docked at the island's shore, has collided with the quay. This ship had previously been used by Armenian sailors for global voyages.

The situation is considered catastrophic; if water levels do not decrease in the next two days, the island could be completely submerged.

Earlier reports indicated that over 80 percent of the Venice area is under water.
