Man Sets Fire to Father-in-Law's Car in Ararat Province
A resident of the Jrarat community in Ararat Province, S. Martirosyan, set fire to his father-in-law's car after recalling a dispute with his wife, L. Frnzyan, and the family's return to his paternal home. This information was revealed today, November 12, through the judicial information system.
On the evening of August 29, 2019, while under the influence of alcohol, S. Martirosyan, driven by recollections of his disagreement with his wife and the subsequent departure of his wife and children, deliberately set fire to his father-in-law's vehicle.
Several days later, after consuming alcohol again in his home in Jrarat village, and reflecting on past disputes with his wife that led to her and the children leaving, he decided to take revenge by traveling to his father-in-law's house in a random vehicle. He purchased gasoline from a gas station, brought it to his father-in-law's yard, and poured it onto the trunk of the “Opel” vehicle belonging to his father-in-law. He also poured the remaining gasoline on the entrance door of their home and set it ablaze before fleeing the scene.
The citizen has been charged under Article 34 (attempted crime) and Part 2, Points 1 and 2 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code (deliberate destruction or damage of property). A security measure has been applied in the form of a signature not to leave.
