Police Discover Body of Missing Man Who Fell from a Cliff
On November 9, a tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 13:00, the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Martuni rescue team and the Martuni police station received a report about a body of a man found in the gorge known as 'Ishkhanatakh' near the village of Verin Getashen, close to the 'Ishkhanavank' site.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the Martuni fire rescue team promptly arrived at the scene with one combat unit. Rescue workers, police officers, and citizens faced significant difficulties in retrieving the body of 64-year-old G. Simonyan, a resident of the village of Nerkin Getashen, from the specified gorge using a stretcher.
According to reports, he had been missing since November 3 of this year and was being sought by the Martuni police station. Preliminary information suggests that he fell from a cliff, which led to his death.
