I Don't Think the Mother University Is Currently in the Ministry's Focus: SC President

Today, students from the Faculty of Armenian Philology at Yerevan State University have declared a strike. They are protesting against the decision to make Armenian language, Armenian history, and Armenian literature non-mandatory in the university programs.

The President of the Student Council, David Apoyan, stated that the protest was spontaneous, and while one could justify the perspective of the authors of the project, the reality is quite different. He remarked, 'What is taught in school and at university is entirely different; the teaching here is another matter. I do not believe the mother university is currently in the Ministry's focus. The faculty dean is not here; based on my information, they are trying to find a shadow solution to this issue through the dean.'
