«Zhamanak». A person dismissed for bribery at the State Revenue Committee appointed to a high position

«Zhamanak» newspaper reports. Arthur Avalyan should be appointed as the head of the Zvartnots division of the State Revenue Committee’s (SRC) anti-smuggling directorate. This appointment is noteworthy because Arthur Avalyan was dismissed from his position nearly two years ago based on materials from the SRC’s internal security service, but was later reinstated as the deputy head of the Zvartnots anti-smuggling division.

It is remarkable that in post-revolutionary Armenia, where an unyielding fight against corruption has been declared, a person dismissed for bribery is appointed to a high position. This pattern has already become a norm within the SRC.
