Turkey-backed Militants Assault Kurds, Violating Ceasefire
Turkey-backed militants have launched an attack on Kurdish settlements in northern Syria, despite a previously announced ceasefire, according to Al-Masdar News.
According to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), composed of Arab-Kurdish units operating in Syria, Turkish-backed forces have forced them to retreat and seized the areas of Khirbat Fars, Al-Salibi, and Al-Awati near the city of Tal Abyad.
Haberturk reports that Turkish authorities will not extend the ceasefire declared as part of the "Operation Peace Spring" in northern Syria. The Turkish army will continue de-mining operations and will begin expanding its control zone once the initial 120 hours have elapsed.
