A Man Attempts Suicide with a Hunting Rifle at Artashat Cemetery

On October 19, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 11:40 AM, the Artashat emergency medical station received a report from the police department about a citizen who had been admitted with a "gunshot wound, cranio-cerebral trauma, coma" diagnosis.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, police and investigators have determined that at approximately 11:00 AM on the same day, a 35-year-old resident of the Ararat region, Yuri H., attempted to take his own life using a hunting rifle at the cemetery located on the road section from Vostan village to Khachkrashen village.

He is currently in critical condition at the "Artashat" medical center's intensive care unit under the supervision of doctors. Police and investigators discovered a single-barrel 12-gauge hunting rifle, model Izh-18, registered under the name of Y. H., at the grave of his grandmother and grandfather.

Investigations are underway at the Ararat regional investigative department regarding this incident.
