Erdogan to Discuss Establishment of Security Zone in Syria with Putin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to discuss the establishment of a security zone in Syria, considering the interests of Moscow and Damascus, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 22. The Turkish President announced this during a press conference in Istanbul, according to TASS.

“On Tuesday, we will meet with Putin in Sochi. Our goal is to find an acceptable solution. We want the Syrian regions to be cleared of militants from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and the ‘National Self-Defense Forces.’ And we have no objection to these regions being controlled by the Syrian regime,” he stated.
