Jaamank. Three Small Hydroelectric Power Stations to Be Closed
Jaamank newspaper reports: The Ministry of Environment has suspended the operations of three small hydroelectric power stations constructed on the Gegharak River, arguing that the water used by these stations later becomes harmful to agriculture, leading to the destruction of potato crops.
Experts invited by the owners of the hydroelectric stations claim that the potato fields have been infected with fungal diseases, which could have originated from imported seeds. They are inclined to believe that the suspension of the operations of the hydroelectric stations is a step aimed at redistributing property, and they are contesting the ministry's decision in court.
