New Details on the Accident Caused by Gas Cylinder Explosions
The Armenian Investigative Committee's Ararat Regional Investigative Department has identified the victims of a tragic accident-fire-explosion that occurred on May 5 on the 27th kilometer of the Yerevan-Ararat highway under the framework of a criminal case initiated under Article 242, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code.
The deceased are 26-year-old Karen Sargsyan from Armavir and 28-year-old Karine Ginoyan from Metsamor. The source also notes that they had been living together for a long time but had not yet formalized their marriage in the Civil Registry Office.
Earlier, it was reported that a major and tragic accident-fire took place in the Ararat region on May 5. At approximately 00:01, an 'Opel' and a 'ZIL' collided on the 27th kilometer of the Yerevan-Ararat highway. As a result of the collision, a fire broke out in the vehicles, leading to a powerful explosion. During the impact, the gas cylinders mounted on the truck were torn off, with one thrown by the explosion. An unidentified burned body was found at the accident site, and a short distance away in the field, dismembered or burned body parts were discovered.
