Comedian Zelensky to Become Ukraine's First Jewish President

Comedian Vladimir Zelensky will become Ukraine's first Jewish leader. This was reported by the American newspaper The New York Times.

“Zelensky's victory is a response to Russia's years-long propaganda depicting Ukraine as a Jewish state ruled by fascists,” the source notes. According to the publication, Ukrainians demonstrated through their vote that they are concerned with domestic issues such as corruption and poverty.

“Thus, they ignored Poroshenko's warning that voting for a comedian is 'not funny' and could have 'painful' consequences,” the publication states.
