Everyone Criticizes Vanetsyan, but the Prime Minister Controls the NSS: Marukyan

“This is also a surprise for us; I believe we should let the preliminary investigation proceed, and it will be transparent for all of us to see. What surprises me is that everyone is criticizing the head of the NSS, there is such a campaign on Facebook. It is surprising because in Armenia, the one who controls the NSS is the Prime Minister, meaning there is a double standard issue where demands are directed at the wrong place,” said Edmon Marukyan, the head of the Bright Armenia party, in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly today, referring to the charges brought against the head of the State Oversight Service, Davit Sanasaryan.

Marukyan noted that he does not want to believe that there will be political persecution against anyone; there may be negligence, but not political persecution. “If such a thing happens, we will raise our voices about it,” he said.
