Protesters Kill Prosecutor and Security Personnel in Iran
A prosecutor and several security personnel in Iran were killed during riots in the city of Esfarayen, North Khorasan province, a judicial authority official announced on Friday.
Ali Akbar Hosseinzadeh, the public and revolutionary prosecutor present in Esfarayen during the disturbances, was there to conduct field supervision alongside police and security forces, the official stated.
He reported that the instigators of the riots set fire to the trailer where the prosecutor and security personnel were stationed, preventing emergency response teams from approaching them.
“An order has been given to identify those responsible for this incident,” he added.
