Peskov Responds to Zelensky's Statement
Russia prioritizes guaranteed and stable long-term peace in Ukraine rather than a ceasefire. This was the comment made by Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, during a briefing in response to Vladimir Zelensky's statements regarding Kyiv's readiness for an energy ceasefire.
“First and foremost, we are working towards peace, not a ceasefire. Stable, guaranteed, long-term peace, which will be achieved through the signing of relevant documents, is an absolute priority,” highlighted Peskov.
Zelensky had stated that Kyiv is working on a proposal for an energy ceasefire with Russia and placed the responsibility for this mechanism on Moscow.
