U.S. Prohibits Sharing Intelligence with Allies on Ukraine Issue
The Washington administration has ordered the U.S. intelligence community not to provide any information regarding negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv related to the resolution of the Ukraine conflict to members of the Western "Five Eyes" alliance. This was reported by CBS. According to sources, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has instructed American intelligence agencies to withhold any information regarding Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations from members of the alliance, which includes Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand.
According to Gabbard, intelligence information cannot be presented to the citizens of other countries if it has not been previously published. The ban does not extend to information not directly related to the negotiations or to information obtained through diplomatic channels, as well as information provided to Kyiv for military operations support. The reasons for this prohibition have not been disclosed.
