Residents of Arinj Fall Ill from Cold Weather, Electrical Equipment Damaged: Explanation from the Electricity Company
Residents of Arinj village in Kotayk Province report to Auroranews that they have been experiencing prolonged power outages in recent days. Due to the cold weather conditions, power cuts lasting 10 to 15 hours have led to various issues, with many, including children, falling ill.
Residents have also noted fluctuations in voltage during power restoration; specifically, in the morning hours, the voltage reaches 270, while in the evening, it drops to 140. These fluctuations have resulted in damage to electrical appliances, and the charging of electric vehicles has been disrupted.
The residents are frustrated that the electricity company (HEC) has not provided clear answers regarding the situation, instead advising them to submit a written request.
In response to an inquiry from Auroranews, HEC announced that a new substation is being built in the area to regulate voltage fluctuations, and further planned power outages will occur today. The power cuts that happened the day before were also related to the construction work of the new substation.
