You Place Us in the Position of Poseidon or Moses, Then Say You Will Force Us; If We Are Poseidon, How Will You Force Us? - Alexanderan
We have no desire, intention, or readiness to join your message, Mr. Minasian, stated MP Vahagn Aleksanyan from the Civil Contract party in the National Assembly.
“We do not share the approach you have. You have been saying since 2020 that Nikol Pashinyan must resign, the government must leave; we say we do not share that agenda. Now you have come here, keeping those 400-500 people on Baghramyan Avenue on a daily basis, presenting yourself here claiming that you have raised a very important issue — this government, that if something happens, everything will go well. What will go well, Mr. Minasian, what will go well? Enough with this self-deception. You tell us you are organizing a flood, you place us in the position of Poseidon or Moses, and then say you will force us; if we are Poseidon, how will you force us to do something? We say we do not share and will not share your agenda, Mr. Minasian,” Aleksanyan remarked.
He continued by saying that he has a call: “Those protesters are raising a very important social issue, and I also know that your faction is very sensitive to social issues. I have heard those phone taps. The protesters were complaining about the amount of rice they were receiving for participating in the demonstrations, Mr. Minasian. One specifically said they were given five grains of rice in one day. Mr. Minasian, reconsider that; those who agree with people regarding the payment for attending those demonstrations should fulfill those obligations properly — that is also a masculine and humane approach to society. You made agreements with people on how much rice you would give them for one day, so provide that amount.”
