Four Enterprises Fined for Air Pollution in Yerevan; Three Proceedings Ongoing
In Yerevan, four enterprises have been fined for violating the law on air protection due to construction activities. This was reported during the operational consultative meeting of the Yerevan Mayor's office by a representative of the Environmental and Mining Inspection's Yerevan territorial division.
Last week, the inspection body received 10 reports from citizens and organizations via its hotline. Administrative proceedings were initiated in all cases. In three cases, no fines were issued as no violations were found. According to the representative, three proceedings are currently ongoing.
It is worth noting that last week, Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Tigran Avanian stated that any report related to dust clouds caused by construction in Yerevan must be addressed on-site to document the situation.
Additionally, the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center reported that air quality in Yerevan last week saw dust concentrations exceeding the permissible limits throughout the Central administrative district.
