Trump believes Ukraine may have to cede part of its territory
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that Ukraine may have to cede part of its territory to Russia in order to end the fighting.
In an interview with Reuters, he stated that if he were president, everything would be negotiable, and the Ukrainians fighting for their land deserve praise. Trump also noted that a good mediator or negotiator is necessary for this, which is currently not available.
However, Kyiv has rejected the possibility of concessions to Russia, stating that any concession would be capitulation and unacceptable in any case. In response to Trump’s statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed doubt about the former U.S. president's ability to resolve the situation, asking, “Why didn’t he do this sooner?”
