Hungary Rejects European Commission's Plans to Allocate More Funds to Ukraine: Orban
Hungary is rejecting the European Commission's plans to allocate more funds to Ukraine and does not wish to invest additional money to finance the increased costs of servicing EU debt, Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated on Friday during an interview with state radio.
While addressing the EU summit in Brussels, Orban described the request from the European Commission for Hungary to contribute more funds as "ridiculous", noting that Budapest, along with Poland, has never received funds from the EU recovery fund.
"One thing is clear. We Hungarians will not provide more money to Ukraine until we are told where the previous allocations of nearly 70 billion euros have gone," Orban emphasized, adding that he considers this obligation to be "completely ridiculous and absurd."
