Baku Responds Negatively to Yerevan's Proposal for Negotiations on Rights of Artsakh Armenians
Baku has responded negatively to Yerevan's proposal to negotiate the rights of Armenians in Artsakh. According to the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, "the Armenian side's attempts to misappropriate the issue of the 'rights and security' of the Armenian population are unacceptable."
"The Azerbaijani side is making efforts towards the reintegration of the Armenian population and it is necessary to put an end to the Armenian side’s interference in the process under various pretexts, as well as its destructive obstruction of it," the statement from Baku reads.
Earlier, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed confidence that the best solution to the current situation is essential and vital, addressing the rights and security of the 120,000 Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of international mechanisms through dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert.
