How Europe Has Decided to Strengthen the Protection of Undersea Pipelines

After the explosions of the Russian Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 main gas pipelines, Europe has decided to strengthen the protection of undersea pipelines. This issue has been included in the list of national security priorities for European countries.

To ensure security, EU countries have begun to use police and military forces, which, however, lack the necessary preparedness, writes The Wall Street Journal. Nevertheless, naval vessels, underwater drones, and aircraft are being deployed to inspect the undersea pipelines and offshore drilling platforms.

Military, police, and special units are stationed at gas and oil facilities.
