Xi Jinping Elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of China for Third Time

Xi Jinping has been elected as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China for a third time, effectively making him the head of state. This is the first time in four decades that a head of state has been reelected for a third term.

Following the election, he stated: “We are committed to the common values of all humanity so that all issues can be solved together with the peoples of different countries. China is ready to move forward, develop, and create our bright future alongside all nations.”
