Austria Opposes Ukraine's EU Membership, Seeks Alternative Path
Austria has expressed its opposition to Ukraine's accession to the European Union. The Austrian Foreign Minister has advocated for an alternative approach to establish connections between Kyiv and Brussels.
“Besides full membership, an Association Agreement, and joining the European Economic Area, it is essential to develop a new model of cooperation,” the politician stated, calling for a more flexible approach.
He also reminded that the Western Balkans have navigated a much longer path to obtain candidate status for EU membership.
