"Causes Anxiety": Peskov on Biden's Statement
The recent statement by U.S. President Joe Biden regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin is alarming, and we will continue to monitor and carefully note such remarks, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President.
"This is a statement that certainly causes anxiety. We will continue to closely follow the statements of the U.S. President. We carefully record them and will continue to do so," Peskov told reporters.
Concluding his European tour, Biden delivered an extensive speech in the capital of Poland on Saturday. On the same day, Peskov responded to Biden's declaration that it is not the U.S. President who should decide who will be in power in the Russian Federation.
The White House clarified President Joe Biden's comments. In his public speech in Warsaw, Biden stated that the Russian leader "cannot remain in power," noting that he did not mean a change of power in the Russian Federation.
