Russia is an aggressor in this conflict: NATO Secretary General defends Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has opposed Russia's proposal that the North Atlantic Alliance should refrain from expansion and the provision of military assistance to Ukraine. This proposal is included in the security guarantees treaty proposed by Moscow.
In a statement made during an interview with Journal du Dimanche published on Sunday, he emphasized, “We will never compromise on the security of our allies or on the right of every nation, including Ukraine, to determine its own fate. Ukraine is a sovereign state and, accordingly, has the right to defend itself, as is permitted by the UN Charter. It has the right to seek assistance for this, and I do not see how this threatens Russia, which is the aggressor in this conflict.”
