US Plans to Change Entry Rules for Certain Foreign Nationals
The US authorities plan to extend the vaccination certificate requirement to foreign nationals crossing the country's land borders for essential reasons rather than tourism starting January 22. This was reported by the Associated Press (AP) on November 24, citing sources, as reported by Armenpress.
According to the agency, this category includes citizens of foreign countries who are compelled to cross the border for official reasons, such as long-haul drivers and representatives of foreign states and their entities involved in combating various emergency situations.
Those with residency permits will not be subject to this rule. According to the source, a certificate will also be required when crossing water borders. Detailed information will be officially published later.
On November 8, the US began requiring arriving foreign nationals to present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Only vaccination certificates for those vaccines authorized by US regulatory authorities or the World Health Organization (WHO) are accepted.
