The Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Cannot Be Considered Resolved, Says Former CSTO Secretary General
The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict cannot be considered resolved today, former CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said in an interview with Sputnik Armenia. In his opinion, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan is a continuation of the endless collapse of the USSR.
In principle, the CSTO could neutralize this and other conflicts in the post-Soviet space, as the organization has all the tools to influence any situation by force. However, Bordyuzha emphasized that these tools should not be applied. For example, it is not acceptable to use Russian troops, allies of Armenia (and other countries), against Azerbaijan. "I simply cannot imagine how this could be possible. Since both Armenia and Azerbaijan are part of the CIS. This means we should seek peaceful solutions," Bordyuzha stated.
