Former Armenian Ambassador to Iran Appointed as Prime Minister's Advisor
Former Armenian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Artashes Tumanyan, has been appointed as an advisor to the Prime Minister by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's decision. The decision particularly states: 'Guided by Article 9, Part 10 of the Law on Public Service of the Republic of Armenia, Artashes Tumanyan has been appointed as an advisor to the Prime Minister.'
Artashes Tumanyan served as an advisor to the President of Armenia from 1998 to 1999, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1999 to 2000, Head of the Staff of the President from 2000 to 2006, and also chaired the Armenian council for the Armenia-Iran Intergovernmental Commission and the 'Lincy' Foundation projects. Furthermore, he was the President of the Armenian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission from 2001 to 2006, and from 2015 to 2021, he served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
