Turkey and Russia Decide Not to Make a Statement on S-400s: Erdogan
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a joint press conference with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, declined to disclose details regarding the production of certain components of the S-400 missile defense systems in Turkey when asked by a journalist.
"Turkey and Russia have decided not to make a statement regarding the production of S-400 parts," Erdogan noted, emphasizing that this is a sensitive issue for both parties.
It should be mentioned that Ankara signed an agreement with Moscow to purchase S-400 missile defense systems in 2017. The first batch of the systems was delivered to Turkey in 2019, after which both sides announced that meetings were ongoing with the intention of producing certain parts of the S-400s in Turkey under licensing.
