Arrest Warrant Issued for Son of Syunik Governor
An arrest warrant has been issued for the son of Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan in connection with gunfire incidents that occurred in Goris on the night of July 14. The Investigative Committee has reported on this matter.
According to circulating media reports, the gunshots were exchanged between Tigran Khachatryan, the son of former Syunik governor Surik Khachatryan, and Karen Poghosyan, the son of the current Syunik governor Melikset Poghosyan.
The Investigative Committee informed that Tigran Khachatryan does not have a procedural status, but his location is currently unknown. Meanwhile, the governor’s son has been involved in the case as a defendant, facing charges of attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms.
An arrest warrant has been issued against Karen Poghosyan, and a motion has been submitted to the court to choose arrest as a preventive measure.
It is noteworthy that two individuals have sustained gunshot wounds as a result of the incident. One of the wounded individuals is a relative of Surik Khachatryan, and the other is a friend of Melikset Poghosyan’s son. The victims of the gunfire are Harutyun Vardanyan and Meliq Barseghyan.
