Minister Claims We Do Not Have Landmine Field Maps; Armen Grigoryan Accuses Ayvazyan
In an interview with Azatutyun, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan stated that there are forces in Armenia, including officials, who have attempted to undermine security issues. He specifically referred to the issue of prisoners of war:
“For a long time prior to May 27, the issue of prisoners was not being resolved. When Mr. Ayvazyan resigned, the issue of prisoners was resolved very quickly. While in office, Mr. Ayvazyan told our partners that we do not have the maps of landmine fields that we have already provided. When he resigned from his post, the opportunity arose for this issue to be resolved,” he said.
When asked for clarification if Ayvazyan was lying, Grigoryan stated, “He was not only lying, but also undermining. He had no desire to resolve Armenia's security issues. He was more interested in solving problems for his political team. He vacated his post while being on the battlefield. He undermined our ability to solve issues. After his resignation, within two weeks, the issue is resolved,” he said.
