Return of 15 Armenian Prisoners of War Facilitated by US and Georgian Authorities, Says Mane Gevorgyan
The press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Mane Gevorgyan, commented on the return of 15 prisoners of war from Azerbaijan.
In an interview with Armenpress, Mane Gevorgyan stated, “Today, 15 of our prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan returned home. The process took place with the mediation of the authorities of the USA and Georgia, for which the government of the Republic of Armenia expresses its gratitude to the US presidential administration and the government of Georgia. The return of all our compatriots held in Azerbaijan is of utmost importance to the government of Armenia.”
She reaffirmed the commitment of the Armenian side to continue humanitarian processes and to take constructive steps with the support of all international partners. The Armenian government once again thanks the co-chair countries of the OSCE Minsk Group—President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Joe Biden of the USA, President Emmanuel Macron of France, as well as the President of the European Council, Charles Michel—for all efforts aimed at humanitarian matters, particularly concerning the return of Armenian prisoners of war to their homeland.
