Alberta Province in Canada Recognizes the Armenian Genocide
The Legislative Assembly of Alberta Province in Canada has unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide, among others, and has designated April as the Month of Commemoration, Condemnation, and Prevention of Genocides, according to the Facebook page of the Armenian Embassy in Canada.
The resolution calls on the government to develop a strategy to prevent genocides and eliminate their underlying causes, to recognize the impact of genocides on Alberta's national and religious communities, to commemorate the victims, and to raise awareness about genocides that have occurred worldwide.
