Vienna Preparing to Open 'Hitler's Balcony'
Vienna plans to open the so-called 'Hitler's Balcony' to visitors, where German dictator Adolf Hitler announced the annexation of Austria and the Third Reich in 1938. This was reported by Welt.
Hitler's speech took place on March 15, 1938, from the balcony of the Neue Burg, Hofburg Palace. The balcony will be opened on the decision of Monika Sommer, the director of the House of Austrian History (HdGÖ) located in the New Palace.
According to Sommer, tours will first be organized for interested individuals. It is noted that a large majority of visitors to the House of Austrian History have expressed support for the opening of the balcony, according to surveys.
