Hayk Marutyan Responds to News of His Resignation
Member of the Yerevan Council and Prosperous Armenia faction Markos Harutyunyan asked Mayor Hayk Marutyan to comment on the rumors circulating in the press regarding his resignation and appointment as Armenia's ambassador to the Czech Republic during a municipal council meeting.
“First, I want to say that I am not resigning. I have made promises to the people, which I am fulfilling one by one, and as long as all promises are not fulfilled, I am here and I will continue to fulfill them together with you,” said Marutyan.
He also addressed the news about his potential ambassador appointment, stating: “Before the Czech Republic, I was an ambassador in the United States, and now I am preparing to be appointed in Japan as well... You know, the most terrifying thing is the situation of those ambassadors who read these news... Regarding Japan, it was a joke,” the Mayor of Yerevan noted.
