This War is About the Status of Artsakh: Prime Minister
This war is about the status of Artsakh, and it can resolve the status issue if successes are achieved in the war, wrote Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.
“1. What is this war about? The status of Artsakh.
2. Could we have avoided this war? Yes, if we had yielded the territories and agreed to an indefinite status of Artsakh under conditions of the absence of a mechanism for clarifying the future status.
3. Could we have reached an acceptable or any status for Artsakh through negotiation? No, because the last opportunity for that was exhausted in 2011 in Kazan.
4. Can we stop this war? Theoretically, yes—perhaps under a slightly worse formulation than the option mentioned in point 2.
5. Can the war resolve the issue of Artsakh’s status? Yes, if we achieve successes in the war.
6. Can we achieve successes in the war? Yes, if we focus national potential around this goal and all sincerely and selflessly engage in this aim,” wrote the Prime Minister.
